EXPO, NEW YORK CITY--July 19, 2000-- Harman Multimedia, a leading provider of
computer audio products, today introduced SoundSticks TM, a
high-powered three-piece speaker system optimized for iMac, iBook, PowerBook
and Power Mac G4’s. Jointly developed
with Apple’s world-class design team, SoundSticks are immediately available in
limited quantities through the Apple Store.
The
SoundSticks system is comprised of two powerful 10-watt satellite speakers
backed by Harman’s award-winning 20-watt subwoofer, iSub TM , which
produces stunning bass response down to 44 Hz.. Housed in a tubular,
transparent enclosure, the satellite towers contain four Odyssey TM
transducers that deliver sparkling high frequencies beyond 20 kHz. Harman’s
efficient transducer technology provides superior sound imaging, bright treble
accuracy and high frequency responses to create crisp and powerful audio that
rivals some home stereo systems.

Availability
Priced
at $199, the SoundSticks system is immediately available in limited quantities
through www.apple.com (the Apple store) and will be available in mass
quantities in retail stores in the next few months. Equipped with a universal
power adapter and convenient plug-n-play feature, the SoundSticks system was
created for USB-compatible Apple computers such as iMac, iBook, PowerBook,
Power Macintosh G3, and Power Mac G4 running OS 9.0.4 or later.
